In a statement issued on Friday, Clinton said “On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the people of Pakistan as you celebrate the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Lahore Resolution, which laid the foundation for the creation of Pakistan.”
Pointing out the projects and cooperation that the US has extended to Pakistan, she said “From the Tarbela Dam project that has helped light Pakistan’s growing cities and power its industries, to the founding of the Lahore University of Management Sciences and Karachi’s Institute for Business Administration that have educated so many of your leaders, to the thousands of Pakistanis who were helped by US and Pakistani forces after the devastating earthquake of 2005 and during the floods of 2010 and 2011, Pakistan and the United States have a rich history of cooperation. “
With relations between Pakistan and US sinking to their lowest point than at any time in the history, Clinton reassured US commitment to working with Pakistan. “We are committed to continuing this engagement and support as both of our nations work to build peace and prosperity in Pakistan and the region.”
“We appreciate the work that all of you – political leaders, teachers, bloggers, Muslim and minority religious leaders, gender activists, business leaders, and journalists – are doing to promote peace and tolerance. As you celebrate this special day with family, friends and loved ones, know that the people of the United States stand with you and we look forward to strengthening our friendship even more in the years to come,” it ended.

At least Clinton is trying. If would have worked out better if Clinton was the President . . .maybe all this mess would have been avoided. She is a smart lady!
@Billoo Bhaya:
You could not be more mistaken. At the moment the US PAK have a mutual need to cooperate with each other. Once Afghanistan becomes less of an issue for the US, it will become pay back time for PAK. Unlike you I see nothing but a decline in this relationship.
@Billoo Bhaya: I'm afraid this time around there are people who will attempt to complicate such a thing. Pakistan really would need to deal with the extremist groups such as DPC within its borders for it to happen even post-Afghanistan. Though the fact they're basically making death threats to your government and nobody is doing anything makes the odds of that happening pretty bad.
Wow!! It's nice of Hilary Clinton to wish our nation well. This should be applauded. Pakistan and America have traveled a long torturous road. I believe once the Afghan conflict is over, our relations will normalize. Don't forget us then, Hilary?? We are often forgotten once we are no longer useful, or out of sight out of mind.
