Nasrullah Warraich: Bar Association pledges more protests

LAHORE: Lahore Bar Association (LBA) members on Thursday demonstrated in PMG Chowk to protest the failure of the police to arrest the killers of their colleague Nasrullah Warraich. They also boycotted the courts from 11:30am to 4pm. More than 100 lawyers participated in the protest. LBA president Chaudhary Zulifqar Ali, speaking at a bar meeting at Aiwan-i-Adl, said that the lawyers will not sit idle until Warraich’s killers were arrested. He said the lawyers would also file a petition against the inspector general (IG). He vowed to surround the IG’s office next Thursday and hold a sit-in if the killers were not arrested by them. Ishtiaq A Khan and Rana Qamar, members of the Punjab Bar Council said that the chief justice of Pakistan should take notice of such killings rather than focus only on the NRO case.
