LAHORE:

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco), to avoid protests and avert unforeseen circumstances, has again asked the Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) to provide it with a proper load management plan against the short fall the company is facing.

Lesco chief Sharafat Ali Sial has said in a press briefing that the entity has requested Pepco several times for a load management plan, but Pepco never considers their request. Lesco’s short fall was 1000 megawatts (MW), but this has since been increased by Pepco without proper exchange of information, he complained. Sial said that Lesco is a distribution company which has nothing to do with generation; it, too, suffers when it does not get required electricity to sell.
