KARACHI: Provoked by a teammate, Pakistan’s out-of-favour cricketer Khalid Latif was involved in a brawl with Ahmed Iqbal after a practice session at the National Stadium ahead of the Super Eight Twenty20 event. According to the Daily Jang, Iqbal’s father accused Latif of beating up his son without any reason. It has also been learnt that Iqbal’s father is planning to hold a demonstration at the Karachi Press Club to protest against the ‘injustice’. However, eyewitnesses have stated that Latif was not at fault before the brawl began. “Iqbal crossed his limits before provoking him to a fight,” said an eyewitness. A Karachi City Cricket Association official said that the incident was unfortunate. “But I feel that Iqbal’s father should not overreact by running a campaign against Latif.”
