Terror Bid Foiled: 500kg of explosives seized in Quetta

QUETTA: Security forces claimed to have foiled a terror bid in Quetta for execution on March 23 by seizing a huge quantity of explosive materials and arms. According to official sources, acting upon a tip-off, security forces beefed up security at the entry point of Quetta city. At Buleli check post they intercepted several vehicles and found 500 kilograms of explosive material, seven detonators and six landmines from one of them. “We had information about smuggling of explosive materials from Afghanistan to Quetta,” an official said. However, no arrest was made as driver and cleaner fled before security personnel searched the vehicle. The terrorists intended to use these explosive materials for a subversive act during the functions being held on March 23 in Quetta.
