QUETTA: Balochistan Minister for Sports and Culture Mir Shah Nawaz Khan Marri complained against the discriminatory attitude of the federal government, resenting the fact that few Baloch occupied powerful positions in both the bureaucracy and the army. “There is no Baloch ambassador in the 56 Islamic countries nor will you be able to find a single Baloch serving as a key official in Pakistan Railways, PIA, Pakistan Steel or any of the 50 other autonomous corporations. There are no [Baloch serving as] three or four star generals in the Pakistan Army,” he bemoaned, while delivering a keynote speech at a tree plantation campaign. Terming the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package worthless, Marri said as many as 5,000 teachers were recruited under the package but many still await salaries.
