SUKKUR:

The Jacobabad authorities rescued a baby boy identified as Rizwan Brohi in a raid on a village near Thul.

The baby was kidnapped on December 18, 2011 when he was eight months old. After conducting a door-to-door search, the police cordoned off Joongal village.

Thul DSP Fida Chandio searched Zakir Shah’s house on a tip-off and arrested him when they found the baby there. While talking to The Express Tribune, DSP Chandio said that Shah was the son of a woman identified as Tehmina, who was arrested on March 10 for being involved with a kidnapping gang. During the questioning, Tehmina had told them where Rizwan was being kept.

Rizwan’s father, Ghulam Rasool Brohi, told The Express Tribune that he was glad the police brought his son home safe and sound.
