Senior Advisor to the Punjab Chief Minister Zulfiqar Ali Khosa on Thursday urged members of the National and Provincial assemblies in Faisalabad to mobilise people of their constituencies and educate them about government’s ongoing campaign against dengue fever.
He was visiting the city along with a cabinet committee formed to review dengue fever control measures.
Khosa said the police department should assist the district administrations in making the campaign successful and preventing another outbreak of the disease.
He said a comprehensive plan had been evolved to prevent the outbreak and sought support from the public in making the campaign successful.
Khosa said the chief minister had constituted the cabinet committee to oversee arrangements made by different government departments all over the province. He said the committee was holding meetings with divisional and district administrations in this regard.
The committee was earlier briefed on fogging and spraying operations that were underway in the city and training of district government employees.
The committee was told that a door-to-door awareness raising campaign was also underway and pamphlets with preventive literature were being distributed among the public.
