Cross Fire: One dead, two injured

A man believed to be a robber was shot dead and another injured in a shooutout in Faisal Town on Friday. Two men, who were robbed, were also injured.


Model Town SP Maroof Safdar Wahla told The Express Tribune that the robbers, Afzal and Fazal, had intercepted cashier Sanobar Khan and driver Muhammad Aslam, of Safdar Tents in N-block.

He said the men had withdrawn around Rs1.1 million from Alfalah Bank for Javed, the brother of the Safdar Tents owner. He said the men resisted the robbery. Afzal, he said. died in the shootout while Fazal managed to flee. The SP said the police then arrived and chased Fazal. He said Fazal managed to flee. He said both driver and cashier were injured and moved to Jinnah Hospital.
