PESHAWAR: Four people including two women and two teenage boys were killed inside their house in Shaheen Town, while two others were injured early Thursday morning.

According to police, residents of the area heard gunshots and screams emanating from the house late at night and contacted police.

On arrival, police found four bodies, one woman had been strangled, and the other three shot. The injured were shifted to a local hospital.

The family’s relatives told police that the attack was based on personal enmity.

A complainant, Neelam (14) who was in the house at the time of the attack, in her FIR, claimed that one of the injured was her brother Jamal who was married to the murdered Kainat (22). The match had not been approved by the girl’s family and resulted in a feud, she said.

Neelam further claimed that her mother, Bas bibi (50), her other brother Bilal(14), relatives Kiramat Shah (17), Sabeehullah (17) and young sister Laibah (5) were sleeping in one room. Jamal (25) was in another room with his wife Kainat, when unknown masked men entered the house and sprayed them with bullets.

“Kainat, Bas bibi, Bilal  and Sabeehullah died on the spot while Jamal and Kiramat Shah were seriously wounded,” she said, alleging that Kainat’s family was behind the massacre.

Police have lodged an FIR and started investigation into the matter. The two injured were shifted to the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) where their condition is said to be critical.
