Tsunami retrospective: Ceremony held at Japanese CG’s residence

KARACHI: A ceremony was held on Tuesday evening at the residence of Japanese Consul General Masaharu Sato to commemorate last year’s Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Sindh Minister for Rehabilitation Muzaffar Ali Shujra attended the event. The chief minister said that the efforts for rehabilitation of the survivors set an example for others to follow. “We have seen devastation ourselves in the earthquake of 2005 and last year’s floods,” he said. The consul general in his address shed light on relief and rehabilitation efforts and acknowledged the support shown by the Pakistani people.
