In a statement released by Jehangir, it was stated that majority of the lawyers’ community had expressed sorrow over the incident.
As per details, some angry lawyers had forced civil judge Saif Ullah into his courtroom, and locked it behind them. They thrashed him and used abusive language.
Condemning the attack, Jehangir said only a few lawyers were involved in the act. Exemplifying the lawyer's movement for the restoration of the judiciary, she said that the lawyers' community had always worked to uphold the rule of law and maintain the democratic system.
She stressed it was essential to prevent any such incidents from happening in the future.
