Balochistan unrest: Seven Baloch militants killed in a clash

QUETTA:

Seven alleged Baloch militants were killed and nine wounded in an armed clash with paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) in the Pat Feeder area near the Bugti Tribal Territory on Tuesday.

According to the FC spokesperson, armed men opened fire at a paramilitary convoy when it was returning from a routine patrol. The troops fired back, killing seven of the attackers on the spot and injuring nine others.

“The exchange of fire started late Monday night and lasted till 5 in the next morning. There were no casualties among the FC troops,” the spokesperson added.

The militants managed to take away the bodies and injured accomplices, an official said, adding that a well-known commander, Khaki, was also among the dead, while the other victims remained unidentified.

The FC troops also seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition, but no arrests were made yet. No armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
