Fake currency notes: Banks claim forgery is on the rise

RATODERO: Numerous towns and districts in rural Sindh, including Larkana, have witnessed a rise in circulation of counterfeit bank notes.

Bank officials in Naudero confirmed on Tuesday that at least six counterfeit notes of Rs1000, and one of Rs500, were detected in a single bank branch on Monday. Banks come across more than 10 counterfeit notes, on average, every day, most of which are in denominations of Rs100 or Rs50, with the number of such notes brought to them on the rise.
