Football: Chelsea job will be easy, says Grant
Andre Villas-Boas’ replacement will have a relatively easy task in improving the club’s fortunes.
LONDON:
Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant believes that sacked boss Andre Villas-Boas’ replacement will have a relatively easy task in improving the club’s fortunes since the benchmark has been set so low. “Whoever takes over from Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, now that will be a tough job,” said Grant. “But it will be much easier to take over Chelsea.” Grant also offered up praise for club owner Roman Abramovich, who has been criticised for his impatience in dealing with managers. “Abramovich is a manager’s dream,” said Grant. “When he takes you on he gives you everything you want. He spends whatever it takes on the facilities you require and signs whatever players he can for you.”
