Former ANP nazim killed in Charsadda

SHABQADAR:

In two separate incidents of violence in Charsadda, an ex-union council nazim of the Awami National Party (ANP) was murdered, and the body of a decapitated man was discovered by police.

ANP, which has been the prime target of militants recently, suffered another blow when unidentified men killed Khan Mohammad on main Dargai Road. Station House Officer Jauhar Shah told The Express Tribune that Mohmmad, 43, was on his way back from a wedding when armed men opened fire on his vehicle.

The former nazim belonged to Charsadda, the native town of ANP chief Asfandyar Wali. An FIR was registered against the unknown assailants, according to police officials. Zareen Khan, the brother of the murdered political worker, said that the family had no enmity with anyone.
