Kh-e-shaheen protest: Real-estate broker wins back commission
A builder and a buyer settled a dispute with a real-estate broker by giving him Rs400,000 at the police station.
KARACHI:
A builder and a buyer settled a dispute with a real-estate broker by giving him Rs400,000 at the Darakhshan police station, hours after a protest for him on Khayaban-e-Shaheen Thursday night. About 28 people were arrested in the evening when members of the Association of Defence and Clifton Real Estate Agents staged a sit-in in Phase VI. The source of a dispute was a commission worth Rs1 million. The builder and the buyer apparently cut the real-estate broker out of the middle. “If we don’t stand up for this right now people will start eating up [our] rightful commissions,” said Muhammad Shafi Jakvani, who was formerly associated with the association. The police baton charged the protesters and fired in the air.
