Forum: ‘Restoration of LG system needed’

HARIPUR: Participants at a district accountability forum stressed the need to restore the system of local government (LG) across the country to help resolve issues involving poor governance and corruption on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, former district nazim Yousaf Ayub said that in the prevailing system one cannot hold MNAs and MPAs accountable for their misdeeds and corruption, whereas people elected through the LG system are directly answerable to their electorate.
