Members of the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) claimed to have arrested another person allegedly involved in the kidnapping of the nephew of Sindh High Court Chief Justice, Mushir Alam.
Mohammad Faizan, 17, son of Ishtiaque, was kidnapped from a shop near his house, within limits of Aziz Bhatti police station, on September 17. His kidnappers demanded Rs20 million as ransom for his release.
However, on December 20, a police team consisting of officials of the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee and AVCC raided a suspected hideout in a katcha area in Ghotki and rescued Faizan from the clutches of two kidnappers, Mohammad Faiz and Juman Khan, who were both arrested. AVCC chief SP Ghulam Subhani said that an AVCC team nabbed Bangul Mumdani, who was also part of the gang that kidnapped Faizan. Subhani said that police, acting on a tip-off from Surjani town, arrested Mumbani as he was arriving from Ghotki. Mumbani was held responsible for transporting the boy to Ghotki in an oil tanker.
