Surprise visit: 10 suspended over absence

FAISALABAD: As many as nine teachers and a clerk were suspended on Saturday after they were found to be absent from work by the authorities. Tauqeer Husain, the executive district officer (education) in Toba Tek Singh, conducted a surprise visit to Government High School Chak 430-JB and found nine teachers, including the headmaster of the school, and a clerk absent without prior notice. The absent teachers and the clerk were suspended immediately. The case was also recommended to the Education secretary for further action. Those suspended are: Headmaster Saifur Rehman, Hafiz Farooq, Muhammad Riaz, Abdul Qayyum, Muhammad Sadiq, Nazar Husain, Liaqat Ali, Sajjad Ahmad and Idrees Ahmad, including Abid Hussain the clerk.
