Tennis: Errani sails into Monterrey semis

MONTERREY: Second-seed Sara Errani cruised into the semi-finals of the Monterrey Open with a 6-1, 6-2 defeat of Luxembourg’s Mandy Minella. The Italian has conceded only 12 games in three matches at the tournament. Her opponent in the last-four is Hungary’s Timea Babos, who beat Austria’s Patricia Mayr-Achleitner 6-4, 6-2. Meanwhile, sixth-seed Greta Arn also progressed with a 6-1, 7-6 win over Russia’s Nina Bratchikova.
