Barsi: An honest bureaucrat remembered

He suffered a brain haemorrhage and passed away on February 23, 2007.

The family and friends of Sheikh Ikramullah gathered at his house in Rawalpindi on Thursday to commemorate the prominent bureaucrat’s fifth death anniversary.


He suffered a brain haemorrhage at Prime Minister House prior to an official meeting and died in the hospital four days later on February 23, 2007.

Ikramullah died as Secretary Privatisation and Investment.

He served at positions including Senior Joint Secretary Defence Division, Financial Adviser Military Finance, Acting Secretary Federal Public Service Commission, Secretary Central Board of Revenue (CBR) and Deputy Director Prime Minister’s Federal Inspection Commission.

Born on March 1, 1948, Ikramullah joined civil service of Pakistan in 1973.

He left behind a wife and three daughters who are working as a professor, a doctor and a software engineer.
