A prominent leader of Balochistan National Party (BNP) Zulfiqar Baloch was arrested on Tuesday for lauding the resolution proposed in the US House of Representatives, calling upon Pakistan to recognise the Baloch people’s right to self determination.
Baloch, who had earlier spoken to the media from his residence, was arrested without any intimation following fierce resistance.
He demanded that Balochistan should be declared independent and areas of Punjab populated with Baloch residents such as Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur should be constituted as an integral part of the territory.
Senator Aktar Jaan Mari of the BNP facilitated Baloch’s release who was held at the civil lines police station Dera Ghazi Khan, sources said.
Following his release, Baloch told The Express Tribune that “I’m not afraid of being kidnapped nor am I against Pakistan, the institution defending and guarding Pakistan is the core threat to its integrity, independence and solidarity”.
He added that the Baloch people have an innate right to self-determination.

Balochistan is Pakistan's Province. All you separatists will not achieve anything but lose your hair.
Balochistan is Pakistan. period!
@The Baloch: we apologise to you baloch people. And, trust me, Imran Khan's PTI government will give Balochistan a special status. The Americans and the Indians want not your independence, but the natural resources. You r a pakistani, not a baloch, please understand!!
For those of us seeking independence, please be warned that the foreign masters are using you as tools. Once their objectives are achieved (inshallah it wont), they will use for their own agendas.. you will never achieve peace... best strategy is to stay united and elect the people that can hear your grievenaces...
World should openly support Baloch cause. Repression by Pakistan security force unacceptable!
They have the right to emancipation from state terrorism
This type of stupid moves by establishment to curb the freedom of expression will only increase the hate in baloch youth.
