MEMPHIS: Croatia’s Ivan Dodig made a solid start at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships by winning his first-round match against eighth-seed Bernard Tomic of Australia 5-7, 6-4, 7-6. Dodig hammered 19 aces on his way to victory as he rallied back after conceding the opening set. Meanwhile, American Donald Young needed two hours and 23 minutes to overcome the challenge posed by Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov 7-6, 4-6, 7-6. Young, 22, won despite finishing with just one ace and seven double-faults in the match. Dimitrov had six aces and won 67 per cent of his first-serve points but committed six double-faults in a sloppily-played match.
