A court bailiff here on Saturday recovered a man allegedly being held by illegally the Waris Khan police. He was handed over to his elder brother.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry directed SHO Waris Khan police and Sub Inspector Amman Ullah to appear in court on February 20 along with relevant records.
Court Bailiff Muhammad Akram raided the police station on the complaint of Abdul Naeef and recovered his brother, Muhammad Saeed.
The bailiff found no FIR registered against Saeed, nor was there any report about his arrest in the daily diary of Waris Khan. The SHO could not provide an acceptable explanation for Saeed’s presence in the police station.
The complainant had informed the court that policemen picked up Saeed from his house on Saturday morning without giving any reasons.
This is a second time in this week that a man has been recovered from the illegal custody of the police.
Last Monday, a court bailiff had recovered a man from the custody of FIA-Rawalpindi.
