Just not cricket

Malik Tariq Ali August 02, 2010

LAHORE: Winning and losing is part of cricket. However, it is the nature of the defeat (at Trent Bridge in the first Test against England) and our comprehensive failure in batting, fielding, catching and strategy that is troubling.

This is what happens when merit becomes hostage to politics, intrigue, dishonesty and mismanagement. Surely, the ego or wishes of one individual, the PCB chief, are not bigger than the welfare of Pakistan cricket? The team that played at Trent Bridge is good only for Twenty20 matches and not suitable for even one-dayers.
