A musical event in collaboration with the Pearl Continental (PC) hotel was recently arranged at PC Muzaffarabad by Sonic Peacemakers.

Sonic Peacemakers is a project spearheaded by music industry giants from both Pakistan and the United States. The aim of the project is to bring Americans and Pakistanis closer together by erasing misconceptions and raising awareness of the diversity and beauty of Pakistan and its people ultimately revealing the commonalities between Pakistani/Muslim and American cultures stated Tajammul Hussain, marketing director of Sonic Peacemakers. With over 450 guests in attendance, the crowd consisted of families, music lovers and supporters of this unique initiative. According to a press release, the performers for the night included American vocalist Todd Shea and the Pakistani pop star Farhan Saeed.

At the event, Tahir Khan, the corporate general manager of marketing at Hashoo Group Hotels, revealed some of the upcoming events planned as part of the ongoing collaboration with Sonic Peacemakers. Regarding the turnout, Shea said, “I love Pakistan, I love the children here and it’s good to see so many families enjoying the event and contributing to the cause.”

In 2005, the earthquake in Azad Kashmir had severely impacted the Muzaffarabad region and hundreds of lives were lost. About this tragedy, Hussain said, “During the 2005 earthquake, everyone here in Muzaffarabad lost someone close to them. After so much darkness, it’s good to see people happy again. We are proud to have played a role in bringing back those smiles.”

Regarding his experience with the Sonic Peacemakers and performing at the event, musician Farhan Saeed said, “I feel proud to be associated with the Sonic Peacemakers, especially with people like Todd and Tajammul. These guys are doing a great job and I fully support them.”

Naseem Khan, head of operations at Sonic Peacemakers said, “I have been here working as a volunteer during the earthquake rehabilitation process. So it feels great to be in a fun environment after the grim and painful events of the past.”
