Flood crisis: How to help

Many organisations across the country have mobilised activities to help flood victims. Contact information provided.

A number of governmental and non-governmental organisations have mobilised activities to help the millions affected by flashfloods across Pakistan.

Visitors to The Express Tribune website may contact the following organisations if they wish to contribute in relief activities. The following list is a modified version of a Facebook post being circulated online:

Basheer Ahmad | 14 years ago | Reply After the successful project of supporting the earthquake victims in 2008, they now intend to move on to a bigger and a much needed task – shelter building for flood affected families in Baluchistan and Sindh.In the present weather conditions, this is the need of the hour. The task requires substantial funds that can be collected if all of us join hands. Those affected are facing various problems such as lack of food, clothing and shelter. Their own homes devastated, they sit under the open sky waiting for some assistance from their fellow brothers. It is our duty to help them by all means possible. Alhuda is actively involved in welfare works in the flood affected areas and trying to help out our Muslim brothers and sisters in distress. Sumera | 14 years ago | Reply Hi, I got in touch with the British Red Cross today to volunteer for the relief efforts in Pakistan and was informed that they have also started a campaign. Another organisation working towards relief efforts is Oxfam in Pakistan.

Amanat ali | 14 years ago | Reply Giving donation is not a problem but the problem is reaching the said aid to the needy. The people who give donation for "earthquake disaster" I saw these things selling in the market the people of quake disaster still need help. We are corrupt, dishonest almost. The Govt. is more exist the officials are busy in gathering money from each and every source. Now the aid comming from abroad each and every thing valuable will be held by the officials and 20-30% will reach upto flood victims. So terrible and shame. This foreign aid will be distributed among secretaries and minister even and low level. The things will be finished till going to victims. GOD help those peoples.
