BAHAWALPUR: The Bahawalpur National Awami Party staged a protest demonstration in support of its demand for restoration of provincial status of Bahawalpur on Monday. The protest was led by Abida Durrani, BNAP women wing chief. Speaking on the occasion, she said people of Bahawalpur would not settle for anything other than the restoration of provincial status. She said it was in the interest of the federation to restore Bahawalpur as a province. She said some elements were using ‘Seraiki card’ to prevent the people of Bahawalpur from attaining their objective. She said any plan to include Bahawalpur into a larger Seraiki province would not be acceptable to the people of the division. She was speaking to the protesters at a camp set up at Chowk Fawara.
