KARACHI:

The United States of America will help Pakistan gain financial stability through improved accessibility of its agricultural products to international markets, according to the US Ambassador Cameron Munter. He was talking to journalists on Saturday, during a visit to the DAWN Pakistan Agri Expo, being held at the Karachi Expo Center.

He said that Pakistan is known for its fruits and agricultural products and the US government is assisting Pakistan achieve internationally required standards. Such efforts not only contribute to the national economy, but also benefit farmers, growers and all those associated with agricultural and business sectors, he said. The ambassador said that Pakistan’s economy had been badly affected due to flooding and torrential  rains, after which the US had emerged as the biggest source of assistance to help Pakistan recuperate from its losses.
