The PCB chief also spoke about his discussions with BCCI President S Sri Nawason on restoration of Pak-India cricketing ties and how the latter had declined the offer, saying that his government would not allow it. He added that the Indian cricket team was losing fans.
In recent years, team India has faced humiliating defeats, including a test series whitewash in England and Australia.
Earlier Ashraf had said that the national team’s recent resurgence had left arch-rivals India afraid to take them on and is forcing delays in resumption of bilateral ties.
“We’re ready to play against them when their prime minister and board president want the teams to play. Maybe it’s their selectors and team management who are afraid of facing Pakistan,” Ashraf had said.

it's a fact that India consistently (the record speaks for itself) losing to Pakistan was a national disaster. India had to stem this somehow as the entire nation would be depressed. So, their strategy was to just stop playing Pakistan altogether and only pick and choose to play Pakistan and made sure that they won in those matches largely due to rigging!
In India it's all about the image as they are very self conscious and the whole Bollywood industry is also a perception tool to divert peoples attention to the reality on the ground in India.
PCB chief is trying to form a political fron of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Srilnaka against BCCI. Interesting to watch how he will fare.

Dont bother about BCCI or Mr Sri Nawason. Strike a deal with Lalit Modi. He is free nowadays and was the brain behind the wealth of BCCI. He will gladly accept your offer if only to teach the BCCI folks a good lesson. Anyways BCCI is responsible for the poor performance of the Indian team in test matches in England and Australia.

PCB Chairmen shouldn't give any statement like that...He should try to make better relations with Asia's Cricket Boards rather than trying to making those relation more mismanage..

This was an odd article. After a sensational headline there is absolutely no explanation whatsoever of what it was talking about. Not only is that shoddy reporting, its shoddy editing. ET should really do a better job explaining what in the world its headline is about. How is India trying to bankrupt other boards? By doing what? Refusing to play series against them? Charging high fees? Not sharing match revenues? Surely the statement needs some kind of elaboration?
On another note, I'd love to see a Pakistan-India match in the near future.

Mr. Zaka, Indo-Pakistan relations carries much deeper wounds; situation demands quite diplomacy not brinkmanship. I really thought you will be better than the predecessor in your dealings with the Indian board but you seem to be indulging in loud-mouthing, which will only add more fuel to the fire.
To put it another way..PCB asked BCCI to bail them out (yet again) after ICC members boycotted playing in Pakistan post the attack on the Sri Lankan team. BCCI said it can't help them this time as the matter has another angle 26/11 attack and the related cut off in ties (sports included). Hence, this accusation. Shame on PCB!
If people remember it was BCCI which hosted the 1996 world cup along with Pakistan. The recent one also was a joint effort till other countries withdrew. If BCCI wanted, it could have easily hosted both without sharing the spoils with anyone. It isn't difficult to understand. Blame the BCCI for all your problems. Can't you ask the Aussies to come to Pak and play?
