LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Wednesday ordered Chiniot DCO and the Health Department to pay salary to a security guard, who has not been paid in 18 years. Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan passed the order on a contempt petition filed by Munir Ahmad, a Health Department security guard. Earlier, Chiniot DCO Dr Irshad Hussain appeared before the court and was asked why the guard had not been paid. The DCO said that Ahmad had not shown up for work in 18 years. The DCO was reprimanded by the judge who then asked him why had Ahmad not been dismissed after being served a show cause notice if he had been negligent. Justice Khan ordered that all outstanding dues be paid within 15 days. The court also sought a report confirming payment.
