RAWALPINDI:

Dozens of women and children held a protest demonstration on Benazir Bhutto Road (BBR) on Monday against Rawalpindi police for not arresting the alleged killers of three men who were shot dead last month.

The aggreived family members blocked the city’s main artery for more than two hours. The traffic blockage caused problems for commuters and pedestrians. However, no police high up came by to negotiate with the protesters.

The others were also chanting slogans against the city police officer (CPO), the regional police officer (RPO), Operations SSP and Civil Lines Police Station officials, in whose area Muhammad Ashraf, Mustafa Khan and Habib Khan were brutally murdered last month. The infuriated female protestors lashed out at the CPO and RPO for showing negligence in arresting the accused nominated in the case.
