The government has ignored protests by the CNG and factory owners, and announced that gas loadshedding will continue in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa during August.

A notification has been issued regarding one-day gas loadshedding in a week in the two provinces. The two provinces have been divided into four zones for the purpose.

The notification has been issued for the first week of August.

Sources said that the duration of gas loadshedding will be increased in the second week of August. Officials said that Manzalai and Sawan gas fields will be closed for maintenance in the second week of August.

Meanwhile, CNG and industry organisations have refused to accept the new schedule of gas loadshedding.
