Energy Conservation: Interactive session held for students

An interactive session on gender and effective energy saving habits at home and workplace was held here on Thursday.

The event, attended by over 650 students of Islamabad Model College for Girls in F-6/2 and F-7/2, was organised by USAID Power Distribution Programme in collaboration with Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO).

The talk aimed to enlighten students with the role and responsibilities of power distribution companies and to inform them about effective strategies to save electricity.

In the session, IESCO Revenues Assistant Manager Masooma Rafiq highlighted the need for every individual to contribute towards conservation of energy.

She also discussed the measures that people may adopt to reduce electricity consumption. The college’s vice principals and faculty members also gave their personal insights on how to conserve energy.

Students were also told about the Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act of 2010.
