FAISALABAD: Two men were given death sentence on Wednesday after they were proven guilty of murders. Additional District and Sessions Judge Asad Ali on Wednesday awarded capital punishment to one Shahid after he was found guilty a murder. The prosecution told the court that Shahid had killed a man over an old enmity. He was arrested by the Dijkot police. The court after recording evidence, witnesses and adjudicating the arguments of the parties, found the accused Shahid guilty of the charge. The court further ordered the convict to pay Rs200,000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased. Additional District and Sessions Judge Suleman Baig awarded a death sentence to Abdul Khaliq for killing his wife in Lundianwala. Police said Khaliq, along with his brother Maqsood, set his wife on fire in 2006. The court also announced one-year imprisonment to Maqsood.
