Tennis: Shahid books spot in final

Second-seed Omer Shahid qualified for the final of the men’s singles competition at the 17th Sindh Tennis Association Development Series Ranking tournament after Saud Shoaib retired hurt in their last-four clash. Shahid was leading 6-0, 1-0 when his opponent decided he could no longer continue. Elsewhere, in the ladies singles semi-finals, Hania Naveed beat Wania Khan 6-1, 6-4 while Neha Khan defeated Hajra Nadeem 6-2, 7-5. Meanwhile, in the boys under-15 event, Marib Malik registered a crushing 6-2, 6-1 win over Nazif Ahmed.
