Clerical errors: 2 clerks booked for bribery, fraud

ACE said a clerk working with the Highway Division had received Rs70,000 as a bribe for official work.

FAISALABAD: A highway clerk was sent behind bars on charges of taking illegal gratification on Wednesday. According to police officials, Muhammad Ali submitted an application before the Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) and contended that Fida Husain a clerk working with the Highway Division had received Rs70,000 as a bribe for official work. The allegations were substantiated during a preliminary investigation and ACE circle officer Malik Javaid Iqbal conducted a raid and arrested the accused clerk and sent him to jail. Meanwhile, Circle Office Anti Corruption Chiniot Rizwan Ahmad arrested Zafar Iqbal, an Ahalmad of the magistrate’s court for altering official records. Further investigation in this regard is under progress.
