FAISALABAD: An infuriated mob injured an aged man over a marriage dispute in the Jaranwala police station precincts on Wednesday. According to police officials, relatives of Chak No273Gb resident Abdul Ghafoor demanded the hand of his daughter for marriage but he refused to accept the proposal. “There was a large crowd that accompanied the family to ask for the girl’s hand and they all turned violent when he said no,” an eyewitness told reporters.  The accused considered the refusal as a personal insult and opened fire on Ghafoor outside his house. Ghafoor was shot six times and was rushed to Allied Hospital where he is reportedly in critical condition. Police officials have registered a case and are searching for the accused.
