Football: Senegal crash out of Africa Cup
Senegal finished bottom of the group, while Libya failed to reach the knockout stage.
BATA:
Pre-tournament favourites Senegal finished a disappointing 2012 Africa Cup of Nations campaign without a point after they lost 2-1 to Libya in their final Group A match. Senegal finished bottom of the group, while Libya failed to reach the knockout stage after Zambia defeated co-hosts Equatorial Guinea 1-0 to top the group on seven points. “I won’t resign,” said Senegal coach Amara Traore. “I’ve got a strong desire to continue.” Zambia will now tackle the runners-up from Group B, while Equatorial Guinea will battle the winner of Group B in Malabo for a place in the last-four.
