Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Sunday said that steps were being taken to facilitate the Pakistanis living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In a television interview, Rehman Malik said that during last meeting with officials, “we decided to initiate a double-shift system, so that the Pakistanis in the UAE could avail the passport facility in an appropriate and easy manner.” He said that mobile unit facility would also be available for Pakistanis working in the UAE. He said that discussions were held for taking action against the wanted persons involved in criminal cases. “Discussions were also held on regional issues with the Interpol secretary general.” Replying to a question regarding political issues in Afghanistan, he urged the Nato forces to take action for controlling the poppy growth in a proper manner.
