In cold blood: Five-year-old girl killed for gold

SUKKUR: The body of a five-year-old girl identified as Asma was found near her house in Golimar, Kandhkot on Sunday, said the B-section police. They added that the girl had gone missing on Saturday. Asma’s father Gulab Channa, said that his daughter went outside to play and went missing. He added that they looked everywhere but could not find her. SHO Gul Mohammad Mahar told The Express Tribune that the suspect probably wanted to Asma’s gold earrings and killed her in case she revealed the suspect’s identity. He said that she was strangled. He added that the body was taken to Civil Hospital, Kandhkot but no case was registered when this report was filed. Channa is a police constable and works as a clerk in the SSP’s office.
