Farhan outplayed Mexico’s Miled Zarazua 11-3, 11-6, 11-9 to make his way into the semi-finals. While the second seed Egypt’s Ali Farag brushed aside Waqas 11-2, 11-4, 11-5 in the quarter-finals.
In the quarterfinal clash, Farhan comfortably secured a win over Miled in the first and second set, but the Mexican soon put up a fight after when he went up 5-2 in the seventh game, but Farhan made no mistakes to seal the victory 11-9 in the deciding set.
Pakistan top seed Danish faltered against Canada’s Nick Sachvie 12-11, 5-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-9 and Nasir Iqbal succumbed to Germany’s Rudi Rohrmiller in the 11-5, 11-6, 12-10 in the third round.
Earlier in the third round matches Farhan defeated England’s Nathan Lake 11-8, 12-10, 8-11, 11-6 and Waqas beat India’s Karan Malik 14-12, 11-8, 11-5.
