A bloody affair: Rickshaw driver’s nose, ears, fingers chopped

Victim was hired by owner as a driver to take his daughter-in-law to and from the hospital.

A man chopped the nose, ears and fingers of a rickshaw driver over suspicion of  having had illicit relations with his daughter-in-law. 


According to police officials, Kohal Khurd resident Muhammad Tanveer was hired by Ahmad Yar as a driver to take his daughter-in-law to and from the hospital, where she worked as a nurse. Tanveer allegedly had an affair with the woman. Ahmad Yar fired Tanveer but still suspected him of continuing the affair. On Saturday, Shabbir Ahmad, Allah Yar and Bismillah Yar intercepted Tanveer and mutilated his face and hands with a knife.

Tanveer was rushed to the Pir Mehal District Headquarter Hospital where is he is reportedly in a serious condition. Pir Mehal SHO Hajji Adalat said that “since no application has been received from the victim no case has been registered yet.” Sub Inspector Muhammad Shahid Aslam was asked to round up the accused involved in this incident but they fled the area.
