The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has been formally recognised as an “eminent medical regulatory body” by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), said a PMDC press release on Friday. The WFME is a global organisation concerned with education and training of medical doctors. PMDC Registrar Dr Ahmed Akbar said the step would help all Pakistani doctors to get jobs and do post-graduation, especially in the United States and United Kingdom, as they have made it mandatory for all regulatory bodies to be members of WFME to maintain eligibility of their doctors for the license of practice examinations or postgraduate studies for these countries.
