I am unemployed: Shahid Kapoor

The actor doesn’t want to comment on or predict his future ventures.

Actor Shahid Kapoor, son of actor and producer Pankaj Kapoor and actor Neelima Azam, has made it big in Bollywood fraternity on his own. Despite having the convenient tag of ‘coming from a family of actors’, Shahid chose to charm the audience with his college boy looks and endearing naughtiness that can be seen in his films.

Shahid’s last reel venture was his father’s directorial venture, Mausam. The film did not do too well at the box office and since its release the actor has been missing from the film scene. While most actors have chock-a-block shooting schedules in 2012, in an interview Shahid affirmed that he has no qualms in admitting that he has no work on hand as of now, according to IANS.

“I don’t like to comment on any of my films till the producers make an official announcement. All I can say is I don’t have any films right now. So right now I am unemployed,” Shahid stated. However, his fans don’t need to be disappointed, as he said, “In the second half of the year I have many films.”

In the meantime, the actor is keeping himself busy with awards and advertisements. He was also spotted performing at the Zee Cine Awards in Macau on January 21, where he shook a leg with Ranbir Kapoor, reports timesofindia.com.

The actor was also recently irked at a party held in honour of talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, which got busted by police for playing loud music in a residential area. The actor complained to the media in one of his interviews. “There has to be a system where people can enjoy themselves without feeling guilty. Why should I feel guilty if I have worked hard all day long and then want to dance as much as I want? If I can’t do it, then I feel it takes away from my freedom,” timesofindia.com quotes the actor as saying.

No time for love?

When asked about his relationship status the star — who was earlier linked with Kareena Kapoor and after their high profile break up, was linked with many B-town co-stars — stated that he is single right now, according to aajkikhabar.com. After his split with Kareena, Shahid has been unable to maintain a stable relationship.

On the other hand, the actor recently wrapped up shooting for Kunal Kohli’s tentatively titled Teri Meri Kahaani, in which he stars with ex-flame Priyanka Chopra. Shahid was also seen with Priyanka in a coffee advertisement. When asked how it feels to work with someone you have been romantically associated with, the actor stated, “Priyanka is a fun co-star and we share a good chemistry.” He also hinted that the duo will recreate their Kaminey chemistry in Kohli’s project. However, when asked to divulge further detail Shahid refused. “It’s premature to talk about the film. All I can tell you is that it’s a film which is shot over three different time periods and that it’s a romantic comedy,” he said.
