Roundtable: 2011 better for most of companies

KARACHI: Members of the American Business Council (ABC) have expressed a unanimous view that 2011 was a better year than expected for most of the companies, especially fast-moving consumer goods and information technology companies and exporters. ABC members, comprising executives from diverse fields like healthcare, financial services, IT, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals and oil and gas, discussed the performance of companies in 2011 and challenges in 2012 at a CEO roundtable held on Thursday. According to them, the outlook for most companies in 2012 remains positive despite challenges. They saw the need for greater dialogue between the government and private sector and an urgent need to address issues in health and power sectors.
