The LHC bench, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandyal, was hearing the case on Thursday.
Muhammad Azhar Siddique had filed a petition on Monday, stating that over two dozen patients had died and dozens of others were in critical condition after using medicines supplied by the PIC.
The petitioner stated that the case was of sheer negligence of the PIC administration for which they should be taken to task.
The medicine triggered an unknown disease that is said to get deposited in the bone marrow and ultimately ends the body’s resistance. The generation of white blood cells stops in the body and a severe chest infection also takes place.
