Protest and rallies: Three arrested in ASWJ’s legal adviser’s murder

The police have arrested three men in connection with the murder.

The police have arrested three men in connection with the murder of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat’s legal adviser and activist.


The funeral prayers for the legal adviser were held on Mauripur Road on Wednesday. The activist’s funeral prayers were offered in Moosa Lane. Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Noman were shot dead in Pan Mandi. The Risala police registered FIR no.12/12 under section 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code on a complaint by Ali’s brother Shahid.

According to SHO Abid Hussain Shah, Shahid had nominated Mohammad Mehdi, Waseem Haider and Tavir Abbas. ASWJ members staged a protest on Mauripur Road against the target killings. ASWJ’s spokesperson Taj Hanfi said that the law enforcement agencies had failed to arrest the suspects behind the murder of party leaders, workers and supporters. The ASWJ was formerly known as the outlawed Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan.
