ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Khurshid Shah said on Wednesday that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) does not intend on “sticking” to power and that all parties will be taken on board before announcing the schedule of elections.

Speaking to Express News in Islamabad, Shah said that the government will devise a strategy in order to carry out fair and just elections, and that the chief of the Election Commission of Pakistan (EC) will be informed about every move.

He said that this has been done in order to get rid of the impression that the government intervenes in matters of public interest.

Speaking about the budget, the federal minister said that the government is outlining the upcoming budget in order to provide the “best package” to the poverty-stricken stratum of the population.

Shah said that the budget will entail increment in salaries of government employees who are currently working on a low pay scale.
